Leaky Gut can lead to so many problems, here are some common causes

A rather odd sounding name for the condition of the permeable gut lining.  This can cause pain, cramping, inflammation and of course skin issues and allergy type symptoms.

Stress and food intolerances are obviously two of the biggest triggers.   So to say that food has nothing to do with it is ignoring the fact that food is what the gut deals with every day.

In Short: Common Causes

– Food intolerances which damage the gut (whether the food is healthy or not, if one is intolerant to them they cause gut stress.Stress

– Impaired digestion due to insufficient production of digestive enzymes which can develop over time due to stress and poor diet.

– The biological response to food intolerances results in damage to the gut wall allowing toxins to pass into the bloodstream, thus contributing to damage and inflammation.

– These issues disturb the normal balance of bacteria and other microbes in the gut. Bad bacteria disposes us to infections within the gut and at times joint pains.

What to do:

A hair or blood test is recommended to determine food intolerances and it is suggested to remove the foods for a period of 3-4 months enabling the gut to heal and the immune system to calm its response.
